About this education
Acne is a common reason for presentation in general practice. Yet, recognising when hormonal factors are driving the condition, or when hormonal therapy should be considered, is challenging.¹ As evidence supporting hormonal treatments for acne accumulates,²⁻³ GPs need a practical, evidence-based approach for managing acne.
In this webinar, dermatologist Dr Alex Coe, gynaecologist Dr Nasreen Shammas, and GP Dr Anita Muñoz integrate current evidence into a practical framework for managing hormonal acne in women. Through a longitudinal patient case, the panel discusses acne pathophysiology, first-line management, indications for combined oral contraceptives and spironolactone, counselling strategies, practical prescribing considerations, when to investigate for underlying disorders, or refer for specialist care.³⁻⁵
