Diabetes and Obesity are national priorities. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in people with diabetes. Primary care plays a central role in the early identification and optimal management of people with type 2 diabetes.
This webinar features a topical discussion with a metabolic specialist, facilitated by an independent GP to update primary care practitioners about changes to clinical practice following recently expanded PBS access to SGLT-2. Short cases relevant to primary care, and supporting Australian data, will assist primary care practitioners to identify patient cohorts in diabetes care and heart failure, improving access, reducing administrative compliance, and for GPs specifically, to confidently prescribe add-on SGLT-2 inhibitors.
The webinar concludes with a live and interactive Q&A session to ensure the focus is on areas that are most relevant to primary care.
1
Identify previously excluded patient cohorts that may benefit from add on therapy with an SGLT-2
3
Describe the limitations of HBAIC targets and potential benefits of individualised glycaemic targets in diabetes care
2
GPs, specifically, will be able to safely prescribe SGLT-2 in heart failure, pre-diabetes and diabetes care
