CPD COLLECTION
Osteoporosis, a silent and often underestimated disease¹, poses a significant threat to the health and independence of Australians, particularly those aged 50 and over. Despite its prevalence and the severe consequences of minimal trauma fractures, many cases remain undiagnosed and untreated.
Delivered by some of Australia’s leading osteoporosis experts, this four-part webinar series addresses the critical need for GPs to enhance their knowledge and skills in identifying, managing, and treating osteoporosis. Through a comprehensive approach, this education will guide you from understanding the pathophysiology and interpreting bone mineral density tests, to navigating complex treatment options and addressing the challenges of long-term management.
The program will equip you with the latest evidence-based guidelines, practical strategies for patient adherence, and insights into navigating the intricacies of funding and challenging cases. By participating, you’ll gain the confidence to optimise patient care, reduce fracture risk, and improve the quality of life for your patients.
GPs completing this program will have newfound confidence in supporting patients through osteoporosis prevention and management. Each webinar provides significant Q&A time with each presenter to help address your queries on this challenging medical condition.
Attend one or all the activities at your discretion. Registering for one webinar grants you access to all webinars in the series.
To maximise your learning and directly apply it to clinical practice, participants are encouraged to engage with the provided Reviewing Performance (RP) and Measuring Outcomes (MO) activities.
Pre-webinar Reviewing Performance (RP) activities – 1 hour per webinar
Each webinar includes a different pre-webinar RP activity, designed to enhance your educational experience. If you don’t complete it before the webinar - don’t worry, it can be completed afterwards as well, or before you watch the on-demand video (if you miss the webinar).
Measuring Outcomes (MO) Mini Audit – Earn 5 hours
The Measuring Outcomes mini-audit, accredited for 5 hours of CPD, allows you to immediately impact your patient cohort. This valuable activity involves conducting a mini-audit to identify and recall patients who have been initiated on anti-resorptive therapies and may be experiencing medication adherence issues . This practical MO activity can be completed at any time, independently of webinar participation, although keen learners will attend webinar 3 to maximise their educational experience.
